AD HOC WI-FI NETWORK

connecting two computers using the wi-fi function without using an access point.

1. make sure both computers do have the same workgroup
2. turn on wi-fi
3. right click on 'wireless network connection'
4. click on properties
5. click on the 'wireless networks' tab
6. click on the advanced button
7. choose 'computer-to-computer (adhoc) only
8. click on the close button
9. right click on 'wireless network connection'
10. click on properties
11. click on the 'wireless networks' tab
12. click on the add button.
13. enter an ssid (both computers should have the same id)
14. network authentication - open
15. data encryption - disabled
16. make a checkmark for 'this is a computer-to-computer (ad hoc) network, wireless access points are not used'

computer 1:
ip address - 192.168.0.1
subnet mask - 255.255.255.0
default gateway - 192.168.0.2

computer 2:
ip address - 192.168.0.2
subnet mask - 255.255.255.0
default gateway - 192.168.0.1

for both computers, open wireless connection and select the network in order for computer-1 and computer-2 to connect...
